Lucy Liu, an American voice actor, producer and performer is also an actress. Liu is a gorgeous, skilled actress that has inspired many Asian actors to achieve success in Hollywood. In the wake of a number of first appearances in various popular television series her fame was boosted after joining the cast of the comedy legal series Ally McBeal where she played the evil Ling Woo. Her sudden fame translated into movie roles, such as Shanghai Noon or Charlie's Angels. The actress also gave an outstanding performance as Japanese criminal lord O'RenIshii, in Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill Volume 1. Around the same time she was playing major parts in other failed box office films which included Rise: Blood Hunter. After that, she started voice-overs for prominent characters in animated films like Kung Fu Panda. small screen roles like Mia Mason in Cashmere Mafia did not yield results. The role she played in the critically acclaimed police drama series Southland has helped her reestablish herself as a prominent actress. Liu selects her roles with utmost care to make sure she doesn't get marginalized in a crowded industry. Liu has embraced her Chinese background, but doesn't let it restrict her creativity.
